5-Ingredient Crock Pot Chicken & Stuffing
As a working mom, I LOVE MY CROCK POT!!! I am always searching for recipes that I can throw together quickly before work and enjoy the minute I walk in the door that evening. Also, there is just something about entering a house that is filled with the scent of delicious food! This 5-Ingredient Crock Pot Chicken & Stuffing satisfies all of those desires. With only 5 ingredients, I can prepare it in about five minutes before work and know that it will be done and waiting for me when I get home.
Follow these simple steps and prepare to be amazed at how easy and delicious this meal is!
Step 1: Place frozen skinless, boneless chicken breast in greased crock pot. I typically use 8 chicken breasts so my husband and I have leftovers for the following day! Something to look forward to : )
Step 2: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of chicken. The type of cheese you use can vary, depending on your preference. I have always wanted to make it with pepper jack, but I know my little ones wouldn't approve.
Step 3: Evenly pour cream of chicken on top of the cheese.
Step 4: Sprinkle Stove Top Stuffing, covering everything.
Step 5: Place the butter in small chunks on top of the stuffing.
Step 6: Cook on low for 8 hours and enjoy!
This is a meal that everyone in my house enjoys, and it is SO easy! If I do have a little time when I get home, I will make some buttered noodles or mashed potatoes to serve with it, but it isn't necessary.
I truly hope that your family enjoys this as much as mine does. And from one mom to another, I know you will love how convenient this meal is!

I am making this right now but i am cooking it in the oven hope it comes out i am cooking it 300 not 350 ...
I can't wait to hear how you liked it! I have also made it in the oven. Always delicious!
This is the worst recipe I have ever tried. I followed the recipe to the letter. I have never had anything taste so dry in my life. I now have to throw it all away because it is too dry to eat.
I am so sorry that you had a bad experience. I have been making this family recipe for years and it is never dry. I have also had many readers report back that they absolutely love it.
Some more modern Crock Pots cook on a higher temperature than older ones . Maybe that was the problem. Otherwise, just adjust the cooking time. I have found that I have to do that with most Crock Pot recipes. I thought this was very good!
What about the seasoning packets in the Stove Top? Did I miss that part?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Add the seasoning packets too! Oh yes, add that flavor!
Can you cook it on high for less time? Also how long if not frozen chicken
I have actually made this exact recipe with thawed chicken. I baked it at 350 degrees for about an hour! Still delicious!
Do you make the stuffing before hand and then sprinkle it? Or do you just pour the the stuffing ingredients on top?
I apologize I didn't respond to this right away. For some reason, it went into my spam. For this recipe, you do not make the stuffing beforehand. Simply pour the dry stuffing over top. Enjoy!
Can I cook on high for 4 hours?
I do think that the chicken would be done. However, it may not be as tender as cooking on low for 8 hours.
What if the chicken is thawed how long in the crock pot?
I have honestly never made it with thawed chicken. Sadly, I am never prepared enough to have chicken out the night before. Just estimating, I would guess about 4 hours, but that is completely a guess. If you try it, please let me know how long it takes! Happy baking!
I love simple recipes like these! I'm including it in a massive round-up of 5 ingredient recipes on my blog. From one busy mom to another, thanks for sharing your recipe!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I will definitely be checking out your blog. I am also always looking for ways to simplify life a bit!
I made this with the addition of a layer of frozen green beans and baby carrots on the bottom (and subbed cream of mushroom because it's all i had on hand) and it was delicious! And a huge hit with the kids (almost 2 and 3.5) and my picky husband. Thanks for the idea!
I am so glad that you and your family enjoyed it!! I would love to throw some veggies into mine as well, but I am scared my children would run away. They are quite fussy also! Thanks so much for the great review!
This recipes looks good. I am going to give it a try.
Quick question......water? You don't add in any water to this? How does the stuffing come together without it?
I was a little hesitant at first also. However, I do not add any water. I believe the condensation from being in the crock pot for that long provides enough moisture for the stuffing! Please let me know if you like it!
I made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious! The chicken was so tender and juicy, and it couldn't be easier to make! Thanks for the great recipe, I'll definitely make it again!
You are absolutely welcome! I am so glad that you enjoyed it!
What size can cream of chicken do I use?
Great question! I use a 10.5 oz. can of cream of chicken! Hope you enjoy!
Does the chicken HAVE to be frozen?
Great question! It definitely doesn't have to be. However, that will cut the cooking time down. My guess is that it will probably cut it in half, but you may have to experiment with it. Hope you enjoy!
Please help...I have it all layered and ready to cook but the printed recipe doesn't say whether you cook it on high or low and for how long.
It needs to be cooked on low for 8 hours.
This lived up to the hype. I will definitely make this again and recommend it to busy working mom/ women. Or even to us lazy bums who have no excuse (yeah, I'm retiring within the year). Down-home good. Love, love, love these 5 ingredient recipes!
This sounds delicious. However it’s only my wife and I, 8 breast and 2 boxes of stuffing is a lot for us even with leftovers for the next day.
Have you ever tried this recipe cutting all the ingredient portions in half?
I have cut this in half and it is still just as delicious. Cook time will decrease a bit. Just be sure to check the internal temp of your chicken until it reaches 165 degrees.
I used thawed chicken. Cooked it on low for 4 hours and it turned out perfectly. Delicious! I checked it at 31/2 hours and some of the stuffing on top was dry. I just spooned some of the moist stuffing over the top of the hard stuffing and cooked for a half hour longer. After serving I left the crockpot on and when I returned after dinner the stuffing around the edges had burned so don’t cook longer than 4 hours.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! This is our go-to meal on a busy day! Prepare it in the morning and enjoy it later!
