Ninja Foodi Tater Tot Casserole is the perfect comfort food dinner that your entire family will love. My husband requests that I make this simple meal at least once a month.

What's better than a hearty casserole for dinner? This Tater Tot Casserole dish is made with ground beef, onions, and tater tots. It can be baked in the oven or cooked on the stovetop! This dish is perfect for any occasion and it will feed six people easily.

This is my favorite dish to come home to after a long day at work. I love the feeling of being able to put on some music, grab a cold drink and just relax knowing that dinner will be ready in no time.

Pressure cookers are all the rage in kitchen appliances right now. They are fast, efficient and they save a ton of time in the kitchen. When I make a trip to the grocery store I make sure that I grab the ingredients needed to make this delicious dinner for my family. I love making recipes that are pantry staple recipes like this one. Most of these ingredients are found in my pantry and freezer at all times.

I have been experimenting with pressure cooking for months now. Now, it was time to up my game and start using my Ninja Foodi as an air fryer. And this dish was the first thing that really turned out well! I am so excited with how amazing this dish turned out to be. It is so delicious and filling. I adapted the dish from a recipe for tater tot casserole that I grew up eating as a child.

Can I freeze tater tot casserole?

Yes, tater tot casserole can be frozen. Freezing tater tot casserole is simple. All you need to do is allow your leftover tater tot casserole to cool completely. Once your dinner has cooled, placed your leftovers in an airtight and sealed container. Keep in the freezer for up to three months.

To thaw place in the fridge overnight and then reheat per the directions below.

What is the difference between tater tot casserole and tater tot hot dish?

The difference between in their original forms is that tater tot casserole is made with a white or cream sauce middle. And, tater tot hot dish is made with a tomato based sauce like tomato soup. The terms have become a little muddled now though and often these names are used interchangeably.

Can I use ground turkey instead of ground beef?

Absolutely, you can easily switch out ground beef in this tater tot casserole recipe for ground turkey. In our household we prefer ground beef, but I like that we have options like pork or ground turkey when we want to change things up a little.

How long can I store leftovers in fridge?

The leftovers for this tater tot casserole should be eaten within three days of making it in the Ninja Foodi and you can store leftovers in fridge. If you will not eat all the casserole at once, I suggest dividing into smaller containers before storing so that they don't dry out as quickly. This delicious dinner makes a great dish for your weekly meal prep.

Can I use cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken soup?

You certainly can. One of my favorite things about this Ninja Foodi tater tot casserole is that it's so flexible. If you are family doesn't like cream of chicken soup, then you can use any type of cream of soup. Sometimes I get extra fancy and use a can of cheddar cheese soup instead of a cream of mushroom or cream chicken soup. Make this recipe into a dish that your family will love.

I like to serve a fresh side with my tater tot casserole. Here are few side dishes that my family enjoys with this meal.

How do I reheat tater tot casserole?

To reheat this dish, simply microwave until the desired temperature. For leftovers that are already in smaller containers I suggest microwaving for about 45-60 seconds per container; if there is a lot of food leftover then it might take as much as two minutes to reach your desired temperature.

Ingredients for Ninja Foodi Tater Tot Casserole

  • ground beef
  • salt
  • pepper
  • tater tots
  • mixed vegetables
  • cream of chicken
  • Monterey jack cheese

How to Make Ninja Foodi Tater Tot Casserole 

Step 1. Place ground beef, salt, and pepper in your greased Ninja Foodi pot. SAUTE until beef is fully cooked.

Step 2. Add half the tater tots, mixed vegetables, and cream of chicken.

Step 3. Stir until everything is combined.

Step 4. Top with remaining tater tots.

Step 5. Air fryer at 360ºF for 12 minutes.

Step 6. Sprinkle cheese evenly over top.

Step 7. Air fryer for an additional 3 minutes.

Step 8. Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
