Shrimp Stuffed Salmon

Shrimp stuffed salmon is a feast for any seafood lover. Perfectly cooked salmon is stuffed full of shrimp in a creamy, cheesy sauce and just waiting for you to devour it!

I've been in love with seafood for years. It's a great source of protein, and it's just so good! You can also add all kinds of delicious flavors to it, which is exactly what I did with this recipe.

Shrimp Stuffed Salmon

I got the inspiration for this recipe from a date night I had with my husband. We went to a fancy restaurant, and I ordered a version of this that was the best thing I ever had. I got home, and I knew I had to make a version to have whenever I wanted it.

Ingredients

It only takes a few simple, easy-to-find ingredients to make this dish.

  • olive oil
  • salmon fillets
  • minced garlic
  • shrimp
  • mayonnaise
  • Parmesan cheese
  • mozzarella cheese 
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

As fancy as this recipe looks, it actually only takes a few simple steps to make it.

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Step 2: In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil.

Step 3: When oil is heated, add shrimp and garlic. Stir often, being sure not to burn the garlic.

Step 4: Cook until shrimp is pink and opaque. Remove from heat.

Step 5: Stir in mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese.

Step 6: Place salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 7: Using a sharp knife, cut each fillet horizontally, creating a pocket for the stuffing. Be sure not to cut all the way through the fillet.

Step 8: Stuff each fillet with stuffing. Be sure to save some to add to the top at the end of baking. Salt and pepper each fillet.

Step 9: Bake for 20 minutes.

Step 10: Remove from oven and add remaining stuffing to the top of each fillet.

Step 11: Broil for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Serve and enjoy.

You'll only need a few pieces of basic kitchen equipment to make this recipe.

Substitutions

Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt works well if you don't have mayonnaise on hand.

Garlic Powder: Garlic powder works in a pinch if you don't have minced garlic.

Options

Looking for ways to change this up this shrimp stuffs salmon? Here are some suggestions.

Spicy: Add red pepper flakes to the shrimp mixture for a kick of heat.

Chives: Try adding chives to the shrimp mixture for more flavor.

Tips:

  • Only cook the shrimp until they've changed color. Don't overcook them or they'll become tough.
  • When cutting your salmon, be sure not to cut all the way through. There should only be a slit on one side.
  • You can cook this salmon with the skin on or off.
