Spring Puppy Chow Recipe

I can still picture the look on Nixon's face when I told him I was making puppy chow for his snack.  He was about three years old and completely confused.  With two silly labradoodles in the house, there was only one type of puppy chow he was familiar with, and it wasn't anything he was interested in eating.  He watched with curiosity as I gathered the ingredients and started putting it together.

Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, powdered sugar...all things he loved.  But puppy chow?  He was still a bit puzzled.  Within minutes our Spring Puppy Chow Recipe was complete, and he was quite anxious to check it out.  After peering into the bowl, he carefully grabbed one piece, examined it, and put it into his mouth.  His face lit up!

This Spring Puppy Chow Recipe is finger-food at its finest! Chex cereal covered in chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar is a delicious combination!

Ingredients

1. 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2. 1/4 cup butter
3. 1 cup milk chocolate chips
4. 1 tsp vanilla
5. 9 cups Chex cereal
6. 2 cups powdered sugar
7. 1 cup Easter M&Ms
8. sprinkles

Instructions

1. Combine peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl.
2. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir until melted and creamy.
3. Add vanilla and stir.
4. In a large bowl with a cover, pour chocolate mixture over cereal. Cover and shake until cereal is evenly coated.
5. Sprinkle powdered sugar over cereal. Cover and shake until evenly coated.
6. Add M&Ms and sprinkles of your choice.
