Ingredients Needed to cook Spare Ribs in the Air Fryer
Since you just need four easy ingredients, there's no reason that you can't make this today!
- 2 lb. pork spare ribs, cut in pieces between bones
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
How to Make Air Fryer BBQ Ribs
Just follow the easy steps below to get started! You'll be chowing down on rib bones in no time flat.
Salt and pepper both sides of the ribs and place them in a greased air fryer basket.
Air fry at 400ºF for 16 minutes, flipping the ribs halfway through. (Ribs are done when their internal temp reaches 145ºF.)
Generously brush ribs with BBQ sauce and cook for three more minutes.
Brush with more BBQ sauce and serve immediately.
Do ribs get more tender the longer you cook them?
Technically, yes. But it's a fine balance to that. As long as you follow the recipe for the ribs, you should have ribs that are tender and "fall off the bone" delicious.
How to tell when pork ribs are done cooking?
Invest in a meat thermometer! Just do it. It's saved me so many times in ensuring that the meat is cooked all the way and gives me such peace of mind. Pork needs to be at a temperature of at least 145 degrees to be safe to eat.
And if you don't have a meat thermometer, you're really just guessing. Why take that risk when you can find out the exact answer right away?
