How to Make Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Before we get started, we need to take care of a few things. First off, preheat your oven to 350°F. You can also prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil. If you use aluminum foil, I always suggest greasing it. This baking sheet will be used in one of the last steps. When you are done, you can set it aside for later.

Now it is time to get your green beans ready. Be sure to clean them well and snip both ends off. When done, place your green beans in a medium-sized pan. Cover them with water. Bring the contents to a boil for 3-5 minutes or until they turn bright green. Be sure to not overcook them. This will cause them to get mushy.

While your beans are cooking, you can begin preparing your bacon. Place your bacon strips in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook them just until they begin to brown. This will only take about 5 minutes. They should still be very undercooked and bendable. If you over cook them, they will get crispy and you will be unable to wrap them around your green bean bundles.

When they are done, place them on a paper towel to allow any excess greased to drain off.

It is time to assemble your bundles. Lay your bacon strips flat on a large cutting board.

In a small mixing bowl, combine melted butter, salt, and garlic powder. Brush this mixture onto both sides of your bacon strips. Next, sprinkle brown sugar on the top of each bacon strip. This will end up being on the inside of your bundles. and it will give them just the right amount of sweetness.

Assembling your Green Bean Bundles

Now we are going to add our beans. Divide them into twelve equal groups. Wrap each group tightly with a strip of bacon and secure the ends of the bacon down with toothpicks. Place these bundles on the baking sheet you prepared earlier.

To finish things off, sprinkle just a little bit more brown sugar over top.

Now you are ready to bake! Bake your Bacon Wrapped Green Beans until the bacon is fully cooked and begins to brown. This will take about 20-25 minutes.

When your bundles are done, serve them immediately and enjoy!
