Chex mix has always been a favorite recipe of mine to make. It's just such a great snack! From the traditional savory variety to sweet and salty combos like this one, it's always a great snack for when you're on the go or just a tasty after-school snack.

Salted Caramel Chex Mix

Crispy Chex cereal is coated with a delicious salty and sweet caramel coating and then mixed with candies, peanuts, and more. What could be better than that? Nothing, that's what.

Ingredients

It only takes a few simple ingredients to make this delicious snack.

  • Chex Cereal 
  • light corn syrup 
  • salt 
  • brown sugar 
  • butter 
  • baking soda 
  • peanuts 
  • M&Ms

Instructions

In only a few simple steps, you'll have one of the best snacks you've ever made.

Step 1: Prepare two large baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper. Set aside. 

Step 2: Place Chex cereal in a large bowl. Set aside. 

Step 3: In a medium saucepan, place corn syrup, salt, brown sugar, and butter over medium heat. Stir often. Allow to boil for about 1 minute.

Step 4: Remove from heat and add baking soda while stirring.

Step 5: Pour caramel mixture over top of cereal. Stir until cereal is completely coated.

Step 6: Stir in peanuts.

Step 7: Spread caramel-covered cereal out between the two lined baking sheets.

Step 8: Sprinkle M&Ms over top. Allow to cool.

Step 9: Break into small chunks and store in an air tight container.
