Ingredients for Scoop of Heaven Trifle:
- Devil's Food cake
- sweetened condensed milk
- whipped cream
- caramel syrup
- Heath English Toffee Bits
- Heath candy bar (optional)
How to Make Scoop of Heaven Trifle:
To get things started, prepare your Devil's Food cake according to the box directions. After baking, when the cake is still warm, cut it into small squares.
With the cake still in the pan, pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over it. Allow it to soak in while the cake cools. This is where the magic happens. This ooey-gooey-ness is exactly what will steal your heart!
Once the cake is cooled, spread 1/3 of it in the bottom of the trifle bowl.
Now it is time to create all those delicious layers. Cover the cake pieces with 1/3 of the whipped cream, 1/3 of the caramel, and 1/3 of the Heath English Toffee Bits. To create the remainder of the trifle, make two more layers the exact same way.
Finally, finish your masterpiece by sprinkling on a crushed Heath bar. After refrigerating for at least 2 hours, it is time to enjoy! I suggest using an EXTRA LARGE spoon so you can honestly say you "only had one scoop." 😂

I actually like to make it the day before. I like when everything sits together for a while! The flavors are perfect! I hope you enjoy it!

I typically put a large serving spoon in it and allow my guests to scoop a bowl-full for themselves!

What size can of condensed milk?
I used a 14 oz. can. Happy baking!
what size trifle bowl for this recipe?
The particular trifle bowl that I use is from Pampered Chef, and the exact measurements are 10 x 10 x 7.3 inches. I hope this helps.
Thawed whipped topping or just bought?
I typically store my whipped topping in the fridge, so mine is not frozen.
How many servings does this make?
I do apologize for not having an exact answer for you. It obviously depends on the size of your servings. However, I would guess that this yummy dessert could satisfy about 16-20 people. Or perhaps a few very hungry people with a love for sweets : ) I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy!
What does the condenced milk do
When it comes to baking, I find that sweetened condensed milk creates a smooth, rich texture. And the flavor that it adds is just the right amount of sweetness.
I’m sorry for all of the silly questions you’ve gotten regarding this recipe but here goes one more. Is the condensed milk necessary and what does it do to the cake. I have a can, it just seemed unnecessary. Again, sorry for the question. TIA
Not a silly question at all. For me, I like the extra sweetness and moisture that the sweetened condensed milk provides. It is definitely not necessary for this dessert to be delicious.
I can't use heath bars because we have someone with severe nut allergies.
Can you think of something to substitute for the heath bar? Thanks
Great question! You would get a very similar taste and texture from toffee bits. I hope you all enjoy!
