It is time to get started.  First, let's mix the softened cream cheese, crab, and onions together in a medium mixing bowl.

Next, we need to prepare the crescent ring.  Open both tubes of crescent rolls and separate them into 16 triangles. Place them on a greased pizza pan, and arrange them so the short sides form a circle.  Press to join them together. When done, it should look like a sun.

The next step is to evenly spread crab mixture around the inner circle.  Fold the triangle ends over and around the crab mixture, tucking them under the bottom layer of dough to secure it.

Before baking, brush the top of the dough with the egg white.  This will cause your crescent ring to be crispy and golden brown.  Just the way we like it!

Now it is time to bake.  Put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 or until top is golden brown.

  1. This looks so yummy and crazy simple - my favourite things in a recipe! 🙂 I have a friend who comes over every other week or so and we cook something different that we may not usually make, and I'm going to make this for our next get-together! She also used to love shellfish, but recently found out she is allergic, so the imitation crab meat will be great for her and she'll be happy as a clam (shellfish pun intended) about it! Thanks for sharing!

      1. I'm mostly and organic food guy , but having been a chef for 40 years I can adapt the recipe to all organic too. Thanks for the idea.

    1. I prefer it hot because of the crescent rolls, but I do not see why you couldn't serve it cold. Let me know what you choose and how you like it!

        1. I have actually never dealt with canned crab meat, so I am not sure. Just be sure it is drained, and I would think it should work. Let me know if you try it! Merry Christmas!

  2. Looks delicious !We have a Labor Day picnic to attend Sunday and I will definitely be taking this.
Tho I will use real crab meat. Hit a fabulous sale at Giant Eagle on lump crab meat and bought 10 # !!

      1. Great question! I have only made this with pre-cooked crab. So, I guess if you have raw crab, I would cook it prior to adding it to the Crab & Cream Cheese Crescent Ring. I hope you enjoy!

    1. I have never tried making it ahead of time, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. If you give it a try, please let me know how it goes! Enjoy!

  4. Can this be cooked on parchment paper, and if so greased or not? Also could cocktail sauce be added to the mixture?

    1. That is a great question. I have never tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work to bak this on greased parchment paper. Also...I am loving the idea of adding cocktail sauce! If you try it, please let me know how it turns out!

  6. I made 2 of these for a family get together. One I made just like yours and the 2nd one I stirred in some sirracha sauce to make it a little spicy. Both versions were gone in a flash! Thanks for giving me a quick, easy go to for parties.

    1. I am so glad that you enjoyed this recipe! And I love the idea of adding some Sriracha sauce! Thanks for the suggestion!

  7. I make a different version of this. I do not use egg or rolls. I make it as a dip with all kinds of crackers. It is so good.

    1. I have never attempted to freeze it. I would be worried about the consistency of the crescent rolls after freezing. If you would try it, please let me know if it turns out.

  8. My card group lives at the beach so we never use the fake crab meat. As of now, has anyone tried real crab meat?
