Served with tortilla chips, there is just something about the combination of ingredients that basically make it impossible to eat just one. Before we can begin...get out that can opener! We have 8, yes I said 8, cans to open! Let's get started!
Ingredients for Texas Caviar
- black beans
- shoepeg corn
- Rotel
- ranch dressing
- Italian dressing
- tortilla chips
How to make Texas Caviar
When I said that this recipe is easy, I was definitely not exaggerating. The first step is to get all eight cans open. Be sure to rinse the black beans in a strainer before adding them to the bowl.
The shoepeg corn and Rotel can be added without draining.
Finally, add the ranch and Italian dressings and mix together.
It is really that simple. This appetizer can be served immediately with tortilla chips and will definitely be the talk of the party.

I couldn't agree more!
Hmm. I never would have thought to put ranch and Italian dressing together! I'll have to try this. 🙂
I believe this is the only recipe that I know of that combines the two, but I absolutely love it!
